Proposed Changes to My Financial Awareness
I have been struggling on what to do with my blog for over a year now. I have also seen my traffic (readership) slow down over the last few months. I believe that it is in part due to an injury with my arm that has slowed my writing and due to having a difficult time getting my message out clearly. I have been attempting to adapt my writing to a blog (shorter articles) rather than in a more complete comprehensive set of articles that may do a better job. Because I take a different approach than many other financial bloggers (putting a new twist in combining personal and financial issues together), I have not done a great job at covering the whole topic in one blog article (introducing, analyzing and creating action steps). I have tried to write a series of articles on a topic over several weeks (e.g., budget, retirement, etc.). Yet due to only writing two articles or so a week, I believe that it still has been very disjointed and unclear at times. Thus, I have decided to stop blogging, at least for the next several months to focus on a different approach to see if it works better.
Rest assured, this is not a farewell to those who have visited my website over the past year and half. I will be updating my website on different topics on a monthly basis where I will be writing more in-depth articles versus the shorter weekly articles that I have been blogging. To make it easier, so you do not need to keep on checking back to see when I release new information, I will publish a newsletter for those who are interested (sign up via e-mail to the right of this article) with what I am up to and what I am writing about that month.
What I am doing is my passion and I do it to help others. And, I will do it even if I have an audience of one (like Terry – the winner of America’s Got Talent who I wrote about last week in regards to trusting what we are suppose to do). I am shifting approaches because when you are banging your head against a wall to be heard, it may just be a sign to change how the message is delivered, not the message itself.
I want to thank all my readers who have stuck with me over the 17 months that I have been blogging. And, I know that letting go of my blog will move the work that I have been doing to the next level.
